Extracurricular activities

Extracurricular activities give students the opportunity to develop their cultural, artistic or sporting interests beyond the classroom.

Students can sign up to a variety of extracurricular activities on Wednesday afternoons, and musical activities at lunchtimes. Secondary students can join the school’s sport teams.


Lunchtime musical activities:

  • Choir: from 2nd grade of Primary and up to 1st grade of Secondary (ESO).
  • Orchestra: 2nd  grade of Primary to 2nd grade of Baccalaureate.

Wednesday afternoon activities are as follows:

Dancing with Coco Comin

Enhancing physical awareness by encouraging concentration and listening skills. These dance classes activate vitality and give students a sense of security in performing before a public.

Dance in English

Helps develop rhythm and music coordination, flexibility, strength, balance, posture, body schema and spatial awareness and time perception. By imparting the class in English, students will acquire practical vocabulary applicable for the day to day.

Chess

Helps students develop intellectually and in terms of values, to improve their capacity for reasoning and creativity, and to increase their level of attention.

Sports lessons

Introduction to sport through popular games and first contact with team sports.

Rhythmic gymnastics

This develops psychomotricity, knowledge of the body and aspects of its functional structure.

Fencing

A sport that conveys respect, sporting ability, hard work and cooperation, helping with coordination, agility and balance.

Introduction and language of music

Introduction to the language of music through games and activities. Students develop their rhythmic, auditory, vocal, sensory and creative abilities.

Swimming

Introduction to swimming for students in kindergarten and primary school. A salt-water pool activity especially aimed at children. Each teacher will work with a small group of up to four students.

Arts and crafts

Applied at different levels from J3 kindergarten to 6th grade Primary, students learn to be creative and work with different techniques and materials. It helps them develop their intelligence and artistic sensitivity.

Drama in English or French

The objective is for students to acquire a deeper grasp of linguistic expression and body language. It strengthens and develops oral expression and body language, encouraging individual creativity, teamwork, respect and the joy of sharing.

Theatre and body language in French

Students become learn about their bodies and discover their capacity for expression.

Tennis

At the beginner level students are encouraged with exercises to get them familiar with the environment and exercises to develop motor skills and better tennis movement coordination.

At higher levels, work is done to ensure that students acquire tennis basics, working on technique through repetition in order to play successfully on the court.
