History of the school
Founded in 1968 by Pere Ribera i Ferran, Aula is an independent school with no political, religious or economic affiliations.
Aula was created as an experimental school to serve society with a clear heuristic focus, encouraging learning through discovery, logical reasoning, reflection and critical thinking.
The main objective of the school is to stimulate the curiosity of students, to develop their critical thinking, promote creativity and guide them in gaining personal autonomy.
“To educate is to cultivate in students positive attitudes that are not only those of order, quiet and peaceful coexistence, but also, and even more so, those of tireless curiosity, questioning, non-conformism and passionate interest. And even those of rêverie.”
Pere Ribera. Founder of Aula.
Over the years, and with the leading role of successive directors and teachers, Aula’s educational project has constantly evolved, always seeking to offer students those educational experiences that best stimulate their abilities to allow them to develop their full intellectual and personal potential.
The common denominator of all of them is that of a commitment to high standards, since intelligence develops better when the student carries out all the tasks having acquired a sense of effort and improvement.
The school’s facilities and buildings have been renovated over the years, with the main purpose of providing the best service and maximum adaptability for the various teaching-learning methods and activities, in a location in the middle of nature.
In 1968, Aula was born on C/ Dr. Roux It was in 1972 when it moved to its current location on Avinguda Mare de Déu de Lorda. The number of students at the school grew, and the educational needs made it necessary to renovate the buildings between 2003 and 2009: the new Secondary school and Baccalaureate buildings, the Primary school and the indoor sports hall were built, and the Kindergarten building was renovated.
